Mardi Gras at St. Mary's
Mardi Gras Jazz Mass
Sunday, February 11
10 am service in the sanctuary
Many Christian traditions include a time of delightfully decadent celebration, often called Carnival, between the feast of the Epiphany and the beginning of the more sober season of Lent on Ash Wednesday. Carnival culminates on Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday, on which the last of the fat and oil, along with other indulgences, would be consumed in preparation for Lenten fasting and restraint.
February 11, we honor the Carnival tradition with a New Orleans-style Jazz Mass at the 10 am service. Come join the joyful celebration!
