Trunks & Treats
Trunks & Treats
Friday, October 27
5-7 pm
St. Mary's campus
The Children's Ministry Team invites you to the annual Trunks & Treats event! Wear your favorite costumes, bring gently used or new kids' clothing donations to support Alaska Cubs Closet and shelf stable pantry items for FISH, roast a s’more or two, and have fun with friends at this "spook-tacular" outdoor party featuring festively decorated vehicles. Be sure to stop by the Thomas Center's outdoor patio! You can show off your costume to the residents, go for a treasure hunt, and receive treats.
The Youth Group will be joining us to sell baked goods and hot chocolate; proceeds will support their Mission Partnership Trip to Colombia next spring.
Want to decorate your car, help with the s'mores, or support in another way? Text Jess Sulley at 907-317-5483 with any questions.
Halloween is...religious?
Celebrating Halloween - "All Hallows Eve", the evening before All Saints Day - has long been popular with both children and adults. It's sometimes seen simply as a secular celebration of sweets and spookiness, but can it serve up lessons on spirituality as well? The SALT Project blog offers a reflection on this often divisive holiday.
