Music
There are two dedicated groups at St. Mary's that take turns providing music for our 10 am service: a choir and organist singing traditional and modern choral music; and a folk/contemporary group featuring piano, guitars and other strings, and percussion.
The Choir
The St. Mary's Choir is a dedicated, friendly core group of a dozen singers, with additional participants welcomed who sing part time. The choir rehearses September through May on Wednesday evenings from 6:15-7:15 pm in the Sanctuary. Rehearsals are full of spiritual music making and laughter. The choir does not practice midweek during the summer. Music director Luke Honeck conducts and organist Rachel Morgan plays organ and piano.
The St. Mary's Praise Singers
The St. Mary's Praise Singers are a folk and contemporary music group that sings Roots Music of various types. Using piano, percussion and a variety of stringed instruments, the St. Mary's Praise Singers present joyous music from many sources, including original songs written specifically for the group, which presents vital witness in their music. Karl Wilhelmi leads the Praise Singers; Wade Hampton Miller is primary composer of their original music.
