Sunday School
Children's Christian Formation
Most Sundays during the school year, we offer Christian formation for children and youth in 3rd-12th grade at 9 am, between the 8 am and 10 am services. The first Sunday of the month, there is no Christian Formation offered; instead, the congregation gathers together to enjoy a pancake breakfast at 9 am. On the second Sunday of the month, younger school-age children attend Children's Chapel during the Christian Formation hour.
Grades 3-6
Grades 3 and 4 use an innovative and interactive curriculum for children, Holy Moly by Spark House.
Every Holy Moly lesson follows a four-part sequence: Discover, Relate, Connect, and Create. Each week, kids watch an animated Bible story video (DISCOVER), talk about the story (RELATE), read their Bible Storybook or Bible (CONNECT), and try a creative leaflet activity (CREATE). Holy Moly includes ten units that can be covered in two years, spanning the Old Testament and New Testament. We use the Connect NRSV Bible that has fun activities, background information, and more. These Bibles let kids experience God’s Word at their reading level and give kids a personal experience with Bible stories they’ll never forget.
Grades 7-12
Bridge Youth and Youth meet weekly for discussions, fellowship, and fun! Our Youth Group can also be found working the Jesus Java coffee stand on Sunday mornings.
Godly Play
During the 10 am service, kids in preschool through 2nd grade are invited to experience Godly Play, an introduction to Scriptural stories and sacred spaces that is designed to be accessible and hands-on.
