St. Mary’s Gardens and Orchard

In addition to our community food garden plots, the campus of St. Mary’s is blessed with beautiful flower gardens that brighten the grounds all spring and summer long. They are lovingly tended by a group of dedicated voluteers – if you stop by during a weekday morning, you may see some of them weeding or pruning the flowerbeds or bushes.
In the summer of 2024, we planted berry bushes and fruit trees – “Art’s Orchard”, named for homesteader Art Waldron, whose family donated the land on which St. Mary’s was built – on our campus. These trees and bushes provide beauty, food, and restful oases to visitors, and are also educational, as each plant features a QR-code link to a page about its species.
